The Wizard Returns
And so the Help Wizard returns to The Houston Museum of Natural Science – just in time to save Earth’s energy sources from the greedy little green monster from outer space, Blackout Bart.
The chase is projected onto a huge hemispherical screen. Viewers zoom by undersea oil wells, wind farms, coal mines, nuclear cooling towers, and the mighty Hoover Dam.
I was hired to write and produce an action-film score for the action-packed action. Along the way it seems I was able contribute something else besides music. Doesn’t Bart have the most charming voice?

Kurt Larsen, Sharad Patel & the folks at sybilmedia did a marvelous job with the animation. The distortion is the result of the projection onto a flat surface:

And finally the same sequence as a piano sketch, which I include because it was such fun to create and ended up sounding like two pianos/two hands for a silent movie.

It’s a permanent exhibit, so if you’re in Houston’s Museum District, go see!
